CEMFOR awarded funds for an international workshop series on the Politics of Resilience

CEMFOR is part of an international research network on the Politics of Resilience, which has been awarded funding for from the Joint Committee for Nordic research councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS) to run an international workshop series on resilience and global governmentality. Participating universityies are University of Lapland (Finland) och University of Copenhagen (Denmark). The workshop series is part of CEMFORs thematic area Biopolitics and Racism.
The first workshop, Colonialism and Resilience, will be held at Uppsala University, Sweden, in October 2023. It will study the entanglements of colonial power hierarchies and the calls for resilience. The second workshop, Neoliberalism and Resilience, will be held in May 2024 at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. It will examine the connections between resilience and neoliberal rationalities. The third workshop, Strategic Resilience, will be held in October 2024 at the University of Lapland, Finland. It will study the development of resilience doctrine within NATO’s military-strategic approach to the Nordic Arctic.
